Question maddie? There is a lot of confusion over phytates found in grains. On one hand they are seem as fantastic for our health helping to prevent cancers and various diseases however on the other hand there are views that they inhibit zinc and iron absorption. Is this something we should worry about. I eat a lot of nuts seeds plants and whole grains however I also eat a lot of fish and good quality chicken. I don't want to cut out my nuts grains and seeds but am concerned now whether phytates are bad for me. I am slightly anemic but did not think that was due to eating grains, any tips of getting lots of iron? X X

Yes I have anaemia however I do already eat lots of greens and I eat chicken and fish. I don't like red meat so don't eat that but try my best with plant sources but does not seem to be working? X
