Morning all.
I've just weighed myself and I've put on a few lbs! I'm surprised by this as I have quite a bit to lose (2 stone) and, I hate to say, disheartened. Should I make changes to what I'm doing? Eat less? I've been following the exercises and diet principles (I don't eat meat so have made substitutes). I've not eaten any refined sugars for 3 weeks.
Would love to hear advice! Thanks💕

This happened to me when I first started too! Whilst I wasn't doing the plan to just lose weight I was a little gutted as felt like am absolute Saint eating all the food!! However am now heading into week four and have now lost 4 lbs in total. Keep going and it will all settle down X

Have you tried measuring yourself too? Sometimes you won't lose any lbs but an inch off your waist is just as motivating 😊

Yes I feel hugely different since starting the guides and so much better which is why I was disappointed (at the scales and myself) for being disheartened about a few lbs. I'm going to concentrate on how I am feeling and trust the rest will fall into place as a result.

I haven't needed to reduce anything I suffer also with ibs and food intolerances and loosing weight without needing the exercising

My scales are body analysis I can tell by looking at it but I don't rely on it as it become unhealthy obsession of nine . I go by how light my body and loose clothes are

That is very lovely of you JenHamer ☺ I carry it around my middle and hips mainly. I've never really struggled with weight but it's crept on the past 4 years and I'd like to get back to 'me,' especially as I know a lot of it has been gained through emotional eating. That is why I wanted to do this program so much in particular, as it's holistic and supportive. I certainly feel better since starting Glow Guides and doing the exercise has made a huge impact h on here.

I go up and down by about 5 pounds a day depending on the time. Have you noticed any difference in how you are feeling or do you feel like you have toned up. I'm quite athletic in my build so when I do exercise even for a short period of time I tend to put on weight on the scales. This programme has helped me not focus on that and just focus on how I'm feeling though. was there a huge difference in how you are before and how you are eating now

Is it an ethical reason you don't eat meat and fish, cos they are very high in protein and can be excellent if you are looking to gain weight. Obviously if you really don't want to eat them then don't that's fine but if your going low carb they are great staples for meals. The plan is 1400 calories per day so going lower could actually be quite dangerous for you so I would be a bit carful how much you cut out. Maybe you are holding on to a lot of water which adds to weight. I would stick with it for a little longer. Don't be disheartened, weight should not be controlling you X

Thank you both. I am going to try reducing the carbs a bit and see how that goes. My aim for this plan is to develop a lifestyle of eating and exercise that I can sustain. I've developed a damaging pattern to feast or famine (days of green spirulina smoothies or cake!) which I really want to destroy for good; it's a harmful cycle. This is why I am hesitant to weigh myself but, at the same time, I do have to lose weight so it's a tricky mind game!

Hi, if I am honest having just started week 5 , my weight loss is no where near what I hoped, yes I have lost a bit, but I haven't eaten anything bad, had to swap out a few proteins as I don't eat meat, but also found the carbohydrate content too much, eg, lentils, butter beans, sweet potato. For the next few week I am going to follow more the principles of the book than the app,and see if that helps . I suspect that because it is "approved" they have had to follow certain guidlines, also the food is connected to the exercise ,so if you can't fit in all the exercise you can't possible get the same results . However, I am feeling much better for doing this
, but would I do it again, probably not . 😀

I disagree with the gaining muscle bit so soon in the programme...my scales haven't gone down as much as I'd like but my fat % has changed (my scales show weight, fat and water)

My buddy and I made the following changes: less oil (a lot less) less nuts and seeds, reduced the avo portion and didn't have the date ball. Weight loss is steady, around 1lb a week. Also stopped having the left overs for lunch as it was too much, soup or salad.
Basically we tweaked it a bit! Had the dinners and breakfasts but less of the "high good fat" things.

I will tell you know matter what my scales say they are wrong because of you feel your body lighter and your close looser your doing something right. I got 3-4 stone to loose so I complete understand
