Make sure you have good trainers that are fitted for your feet. Find a training plan based on the number of days you can train and stick to it! Don't compare yourself to others, and remember pace is irrelevant for a first half marathon; just run to enjoy it, soak the atmosphere and have a great experience... You will love it! Finally, there will be days when you doubt yourself but keep believing and you will run 13.1 miles... I love running and have done many half marathons and I'm training fir my 5th marathon this April!

Thank you for the advice . I've had my gait done and have good pair of trainers . What running plan did you use ? Were you an experienced runner before training for the half ?

Go to a running shop such as Run4it and get a gate analysis to get a good pair of trainers that fit you. A good pair of running socks and sports bra are also a must. I also found a training plan on line that I pretty much stuck to for my half last year. lastly enjoy the whole experience!
