Hi all

Kinda stuck. I'm in a terrible place with food and drink far too much alcohol. Am really struggling with exercise but I have a decent excuse for that.

Can anyone give me some tips on non alcoholic treats before I end up any worse than I am now. I plan on restarting week one on Sunday.

I find if I can go without having wine with my evening meal then I can go cold turkey for the whole evening! I love wine too! I think it just goes with my job as a teacher, but the meditation and turmeric milk has been my saviour. Some nights when my husband automatically pours me a glass pf wine I have actually passed as the taste seems toxic 💀💀💀Now I have never said no to a glass of wine, but as the sugar cravings are decreasing so is the NEED for wine. My sleep has improved dramatically to the point of going of like a light and waking up only once. Come on you can do it 😘

Hey gorgeous girl!! My advice would be if you want to cut out alcohol completely don't tell your friends as they may put pressure on you. Order soda and lime at the bar and it will look like alcohol so you won't have to feel inclined and persuaded by friends babe!! I hope this helps you're doing so amazingly well never under estimate yourself, we're all here for you xxx

Can I drink alcohol?
Ideally over the 8 weeks you will give up booze; however if you can't go without you can have 2-3 drinks per week.

Aw thanks guys. I think part of it is that I am addicted to sugar, wine is just another form I suppose.

I think when I'm trying this again I'm going to have to go cold turkey for at least weeks 1 and 2 then see how it goes after that. Maybe after that I'll have reset my tastebuds or something...

I totally sympathise with you on this one as its my biggest struggle too. I think it depends on you, some people find they have to go cold turkey, all or nothing. For others if something is not allowed it just makes the desire worse. I like morglows idea of buying something more special and savouring it. I try to look at a glass as a glass of sugar and remember what its doing to my body ie overworking my liver and being stored as fat and then remembering that post drink feeling is yucky and i prefer the glow feeling i have when i eat well and avoid it. Good luck and dont beat yourself up... Just ask yourself what has to happen to move forward? Xx

I think again it's herbal teas, sparkling water and lime but I'm well aware sometimes that doesn't quite hack it lols. What I have been doing is buying a really nice bottle of wine, something a bit more expensive than what I would normally spend and having 2 or three glasses a week. I've actually found I enjoy it more and because it's so nice I want to savour it. For me telling myself I can't have something is just setting myself up for a fail lol.
