I was wondering what everyone's view on potato is. I know there are better form of carbohydrate. Potato is something I seem to digest quite well. Obviously in the baked sense rather than the fried.

I am all for the humble potato. I had a lot of vitamins and minerals in which are all beneficial for you. It also contains a lot less phytates than grains so allows absorption of things like iron and calcium better than something like quinoa and beans. There is also some late research explaining that the humble white potato can actually be superior to the sweet potato when all health elements are considered, but sweet pots are still super yummy. So my advice is have the White potato and the sweet potato and enjoy them, if you eat balanced diet and regular exercise there is no reason not to have them. There are a lot f myths out there about them but this is the latest research gathered X X

I think it's considered a very starchy white carb which is not so great. But understand that skin on lowers the GI thus improving the health benefits a bit. Baked sweet potato is lovely and good for you. That said - I don't think potatoes are bad for you, just don't have any real health benefits. đź’š
