Does anyone know why ordinary potatoes aren't in the plan?

Hello gorgeous white potatoes tend to spike blood sugar levels more than a week potatoes. And I also love the taste of sweet potatoes I think they're delicious xxxx

There was recently a big study done on this and they concluded that white and sweet were both very nutritious the only difference was that the white had less sugar. So both are great and I would use both of you like them X X

Yes auntiflipper I don't think they are particularly bad just something to be aware of

Yes. High GI gives you a quick hit of fullness and raise blood glucose but doesn't sustain you for long so blood sugar crashes and you then you start to crave more starchy carbs.

So they don't keep you feeling full for as long as other root veg? But have the calories?

White potatoes are a starchy carb that have a high GI. You can lower the GI and make them a bit healthier by leaving skins on. X

I think because sweet potato is a healthier option and they're much less starchy
