Hello everyone! I'm beginning week 5 on Sunday and saw we were supposed to eat a spoonful of sauerkraut with every dinner, but I absolutely hate it! Should I just leave it out, or are there special benefits to it that I can find in other ingredients? Thank you 😊

Thanks Madeleine! I think I'll try that as I'm really not enthusiastic about sauerkraut (and there are very few things that I dislike). And I already have apple cider vinegar so everything's perfect 😉

Hello gorgeous, it's great for digestion but if you hate it you can omit it and have raw apple cider vinegar which also aids digestion xx

Yes it does, thank you so much! I'll give it a try them, hopefully I'll get past the initial disgust indeed (they used to give us sauerkraut on its own at school, with sausages and potatoes on the side... Yuk. Maybe if I get some that is good quality and mix it up with vegetables as you said it won't taste as bad!)

Hey! I completely get it, I hated sauerkraut at first too (I nicknamed it sauercrap 😆), and I still think it smells like dirty old sneakers 😛 but I do have to say you get used to it and I have actually come to like it. I mix a spoon through my salads, or have some with eggs, it's also really good with roast veggies - but I never have it on its own!! If you can try to push through the initial disgust then I would definitely recommend it... If not the main nutritional benefit for sauerkraut is the fermentation process which makes it hugely beneficial for your gut health by promoting healthy gut flora, so anything fermented is a great substitute - kombucha is delicious!! Hope this helps 😊 xx
