I've found out I have a yeast overgrowth so need to be on a low carb (only temp) gluten free, dairy free and sugar free diet and up my veg & salad. How easy do you think it would be to follow the eating plan cutting out Sweet potatoes and stuff ? Like only having one meal of the plan a day instead of 2? Basically I have to follow a candida diet but I can't find a great deal of recipes and need guidance !!

Thanks X

Hi I have yeast overgrowth too as well as bacteria overgrowth. What works well is substitute sweet pots with Jerusalem artichokes, turnips, swede or celeriac as all these roots are very low in sugar. I have been eating loads of coconut oil as it's very anti fungal and lots of coconut products such as yogurt, coconut manna, coconut chips and milk. Lots of avocados and loads of veggies and good quality organic meat and fish. Loads of fats as your carbs will be low so lots of fat is needed. My skin is thanking me for so much fat lol. Hope that helps X X

Is the rye bread gluten free too?

Yes it is literally the purest bread out there - ingredients list: rye flour, water, salt 👍 it actually says "no yeast" I think on the packet... I've just had some with avocado for breakfast, yum xx

I used to buy a rye bread from Waitrose when I did this diet - it's yeast free. It's by the village bakery. It's lovely toasted xx

I think I had normal potatoes too actually... Just no wheat or gluten and no sugar. Oh and limit fruit to 2-3 pieces per day - no smoothies or juices thou, the actual fruit.
But check that link as this was just what my nutritionist told me at the time xx

I followed the candida diet as well and was allowed to eat brown rice, rye and spelt and sweet potato and normal potato. And think quinoa is going to be fine too.

Does the diet say you can't have complex carbs? I followed a candida diet in the past but was allowed oats, sweet potatoes, brown rice, etc...
