I've started to get crippling stomach ache and feeling sick a few hours after eating quinoa. Used to be fine with it until 3-4 weeks ago. Has anyone else experienced this? Using the same brand I have always used and cooking for long enough.

Hmmm.interesting...as I've been super bloated and digestive issues since incorporating quinoa on my diet and getting a rash...wasn't sure what it was and felt so frustrated as been soo healthy...maybe we need to cut it out and replace with brown rice...?i will try...

Apparently it's fiber or saponins causing digestive discomfort xx

Going to try soaking them thanks. I'm not gluten intolerant Autieflipper although I have a sensitivity to wheat. My youngest we suspect is so he's currently on an elimination diet so I'm having to do it too as he's still breastfeeding. Think I may have become more sensitive to processed or hard to digest foods as a result of eating cleaner.

Some quinoa may have cross confirmation of gluten if your intolerant

Maybe try soaking it over night before cooking it? It's meant to make it easier to digest xx

Oh no! It may be worth soaking the quinoa overnight first to get rid of the phytic acid. Doing this makes it easier to digest. Then jut rinse under cold water in the morning. But always make sure to rinse your quinoa to get rid of excess starch and it should be easier for digestion. I hope that helps xx
