So I've gone easier on the yoga and my back seems to be feeling better. However I find my hands and feet are slipping on my mat and I'm finding it hard to hold form. Can't anyone recommend a good yoga mat that can prevent this? Xx

I have one from fabletics which is nice and thick/cushiony and then has jute fabric built in, to the top layer so it's a bit rougher and you get good grip. I really love it and I bought my sister one too. They are quite pricey but I think it was worth it!

Gaiam do a great 'no slip yoga towel' you can put on top of your mat. It is also good to take when traveling as it can be used without the mat. Plus it cushions your knees when you are in all fours positions. You can get them online on the gaiam website or from the USA amazon site

Most yoga mats need washing first, this takes off the shiny/ slippery top bit. I pop mine in the washing machine! Xx

Liquid chalk is fab. I've been using it for years. It gets everywhere but improved my practice. I have muscular skeletal problems with my shoulders and found that my hands and feet slipping was causing loads of tension there. The chalk stopped that and enabled me to focus on my posture and core stability much better.

I had the exact same problem with me hands slipping but then I got a lulu lemon mat, then thin one I think. It was expensive but so worth it. ITs almost made me use it more to make it worth the money! If you live near a shop they let you try it out there in the shop as well!

My yoga mats pretty rubbish too. Have you thought about trying yoga/Pilates blocks? They're supposed to help you get deeper into poses without over straining yourself.
