Hi all. A quick yoga question for any yogis on here.
I suffer low back pain as my spine curves in at the bottom so I have a c curve in my back with affects my posture and makes my tummy stick out which is not very flattering. Can yoga help me gain lower back and core strength or should I be turning to Pilates for this?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Xx

I think I'll go see a physio @pincess I cancelled the order and got a foam roller instead which I've also not used. Oops xx

Seeing a physio or osteopath would be a good idea . Pilates is fab for core and yoga and Pilates compliment each other . X

Is Pilates good to do on a rest day? Xx

I'd definitely recommend physio assessment first too. As for Pilates vs yoga, I do both. I feel yoga helps me with stretching and I do Pilates for core and back strength. I usually get back ache and Pilates really helps with that.

Have you had physio assessment and support to look at what exercise you should be doing to help? I think they would be my first port of call. If it's posture you could try the Alexander technique. I've not done this myself but a friend said it really helped her. I preference Pilates for core control and realignment and yoga for strength, quieting my mind and stretching out muscles, but that's just personal preference. Give it a go and see what you think yourself is probably your best bet.
