My tummy has been so bad all week :( I feel constantly bloated. My tummy looks as if I'm about 6 months pregnant and nothing seems to make it any better. I'm starting to feel very uncomfortable now and it's starting to get me down. Does anyone have any tips on how to ease this? Thanks 💚

Hi Jenny. I also suffer with this. it's horrible! I find raw apples and pears really bad. I also find raw onions to be bad. I find eating little and often really helps. Also...I know it's hard but relaxing and trying not to stress about it. I went through a bad stage with feeling bloated all the time...I worried about everything I ate. Now I cook everything from scratch so I know what I am eating. good luck and hope you feel better soon.

I hope you feel better soon @Jenny Quinn :( try hot water and lemon in the morning or after meals, it will help your digestion. Xx

@lithie I just use a mixture of other things for flavour - garlic , spices etc... But no real onion replacement as such .

I don't eat much sugar at all. I very rarely eat biscuits, cakes etc so not sure it's that @lithie x

Are you eating sugar? My sister in law has totally cut out refined sugar and says that helps a lot.

My partner suffers with IBS it's been really uncomfortable lately. How do you cook without onion @fairycake I use it all the time, love a cook casserole with onion, carrot and celery. Is there anything you use as substitute?

It's annoying as I love apples - however if my stomach is having a good day I have been able to reintroduce grated Apple - must be easier to digest .

I eat apples and onions every day! Maybe they could be causing it?! I'm cooking dinner as we speak with onions in it..! Perhaps I'll try and cut them out and see how I get on. I definitely think dairy disagrees with me but would miss my morning coffee without milk.
I'll look into getting some sauerkraut too xx

Fodmap can be restrictive . I avoid gluten and dairy and find apples, pears and onions really don't agree with me ! Took me a while to figure out which foods upset me so maybe just try eliminating one thing at a time to see the difference . I get sauerkraut from Daylesford or make my own when I've got time - quite quick to make just takes a few days to ferment . Xx

Hey @fairycake I don't feel particularly stressed at the moment, so I'm not sure if it's that. I'll try some sauerkraut- where do you get it from? I'm not sure what foods are high in fibre to cut out, i considered the fodmap diet but not sure and worry it'll be restrictive xxx

I suffer horribly with IBS symptoms - are you stressed at moment as this always makes it worse for me ? Sauerkraut is good to have with meals and I find not overdoing the fibre also helps . I think it's very different for everyone but those things could help . X
