Is anyone else struggling with the turmeric milk or is it just me? I've been substituting with vanilla chai but I feel like I'm not sticking to the plan. Any suggestions on alternatives or a different take on the turmeric? Almond instead of rice milk maybe? Any ideas? โ“๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿ˜

Hello! Yes you can substitute the milk to your taste buds so by using almond or coconut milk. Alternatively you can just have a lemon and honey if you don't like the taste of turmeric ๐Ÿ˜˜

Really not a fan of the turmeric milk either.

I haven't tried it yet. while I like the ingredients, together they don't sound appealing. I've been meaning to ask Madeleine what the benefits are. I know tumeric is great but is there a reason for it in the milk?

I am used to turmeric in drinks so not so much an issue - when we were kids my mother used to give us hot milk with dry roasted ajwain and turmeric as a cold remedy. Perhaps you could try my mother's other homemade remedy for sore throats - turmeric, honey and ginger juice lozenges followed by some hot water or dissolved in hot water.

I use unsweetened homemade almond or cashew milk! cashew milk makes it really thick and smooth, i do struggle a bit with the ginger bits so i think i may strain it next time or use ground ginger! my son and sister didn't like even when sweetened! i don't sweeten it, though! I think Madeleine said somewhere that she drinks either turmeric milk or water with lemon in the morning so maybe you could try that!

Sisforsophie I was told off by the dentist yesterday for drinking lemon water. Apparently it softens the enamel. She said if I must drink it then don't sip just drink it in one go....

I don't like it either so have missed it out. I just have porridge.

I had it once, wasn't too keen and don't like faffing with making it first thing... However, I made a batch for 3 drinks, drained it and having one now and it is much better.

Don't worry, unfortunately you're not alone. ๐Ÿ™ˆI really didn't like it after the first taste (though I like and regularly use all the ingredients, just not put together) I think it was the ginger bits I found tricky to drink so I'll try the strainer idea - thanks guys. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
I haven't altered the recipe as I thought maybe it was best to just skip it altogether, so I've just been having my usual water and lemon each morning. ๐Ÿ‹๐ŸŒŸ Does any one else not have the turmeric milk?

I haven't tried it and don't feel bad for missing it. The thought of it turns my stomach!

I use coconut milk and strain the ginger using a tea strainer, have started to really like it, nice and warming.

I've been using flaxseed milk and it's been pretty tasty! I substituted with ground dried ginger a couple of times and that seemed to mix better together.

I can't take it either - it's the texture! My daughter (without meaning to be gross) said it looked like snot.... Don't think that's helped! ๐Ÿ™ˆ
