Hi lady's. I'm a big hiker and am struggling for ideas on what food to pack for a long hike I have planned. I usually go for sandwiches, chocolate and crisps. I need food that is sturdy enough to handle going in a backpack and will give me loads of energy, more grazing food than meals too. Any ideas to help would be sweet. Xx

I take quinoa salad with me on hikes sometimes. You could bake egg dishes into a silicone muffin dish and transport them. Frittata is good too. I run a lot and take dates, mixed seeds or flapjacks and much on those on my long runs...

Thanks! Like the overnight oats suggestion! Great for a quick breakkie, never thought about that as I'm an eggs fan.
Was thinking about wraps as a substitute for sandwiches. Does anyone know a good wrap recipe?

How about hummus or guacamole and some gluten free crackers? The healthy flapjack in the book is great, I always take that on a walk.

The date & almond balls and/or the date & coconut ones would be my first thought if this is the only resource you have. If how ever you have Madeleine's book, Get the Glow, then have a look in your snack section - there are loads of options of things you can make & take with you.
