I was just worried about drinking so much rice milk given there are some concerns about it. If it was an occasional feature then I wouldn't worry but because the turmeric milk seems a daily thing then just wanted to check. Would it be ok to switch to almond milk or another variety? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2695096/Arsenic-warning-rice-milk-Parents-warned-not-drink-children-contain-harmful-levels-chemical.html

Hello Lynn, It's all about the quality you can swap it for almond milk 😘

I do believe it doesn't matter with everything I moderation, but as we having it in the drink and oats it's a constant daily dose. Am sure it's fine but just wanted to flag it up.

Sorry I had heard generally about the rice and just googled a news article to save me explaining- shouldn't have chosen daily mail.... But the concerns are still the same I guess.

I think we could find a report for anything if we looked hard enough....It's all dietician approved and I don't think Madeleine would recommend something which was bad for us.
I use almond milk but only because I prefer it and I use Rude Health as Maddie recommended that brand.
Don't trust the daily fail.....😉

Found this on the food standards agency website. Hope this is helpful https://www.food.gov.uk/science/arsenic-in-rice

I use almond milk for all of it cause it taste better to my and has a more creamy texture. I would pick something you are going to stick with.

I use almond milk for my overnights oats too, with a tiny bit of cinnamon, almonds, shredded coconut & chia seeds❤️

Oh and for the overnight oats I've used either almond milk or just water. I usually add a tsp of almond essence
And a tbs of almond butter to the mix when I'm just using water to soak the oats in. Just for flavour. I also sometimes add a dash of pure maple syrup 🙊 naughty I know

I think it's all in moderation. It's widely discourage amongst babies and small children more for a nutritional purpose. I'm sure the arsenic levels are higher in rice because of how it's grown. Arsenic is in the soil and water... 2 major elements in the rice fields.
My rice milk is made from organic brown rice and I'm only having 140 mls a day. So I'm fine with that small quantity. To be honest I was more concerned about the other added ingredients I saw on some of the rice milks! I'm thinking about making my own milk either rice or almond. This way I know all the extra additives have been eliminated. 👍

I wouldn't take the DM as definitive guidance!
